Every year in Italy alone more than five hundred million are spent on the smart home. Don’t you know what it is? By now we all have a smart phone, or almost, with which you can do many things including managing, if interactive, your home. We’ve all gotten more technological and have spent an amount of time indoors in our entire life this past year. So we discovered many things that previously we would never have appreciated and among many also the possibility of digitizing the house we live in, combining our smart phone with new technologies to obtain a smart home. In this way, more simply it saves, it does not pollute. But are we sure that all of this will make us happier?

There are faint signs of reopening dedicated to culture and theaters, which have been closed for a year now. Unfortunately only during the period of the fashion weeek, they had returned to be warmed by the human presence thanks to interesting projects of some brands that had decided to organize their fashion shows on their sad stages. In the capital of Italian fashion models and models had revived for a moment some of the most famous Milanese theaters. We hope this situation of forced closures will not continue for much longer, we still need culture.

Da domani il Museo Bagatti Valsecchi, dopo il periodo di chiusura imposto dalle restrizioni dovute alla pandemia, riapre le sue sale al pubblico.

“Durante i mesi di chiusura la nostra casa museo ha lavorato per la programmazione delle prossime stagioni, con la volontà di affermare sempre di più la sua essenza di dimora storica, concetto espresso anche nel nuovo payoff – una casa da raccontare” afferma la Presidente Camilla Bagatti Valsecchi.

Sì perché i fratelli Fausto e Giuseppe trasformarono la casa di famiglia nella rievocazione di una signorile dimora del Rinascimento lombardo, strizzando allo stesso tempo l’occhio alle innovazioni tecnologiche del tempo. La “casa artistica” di Via Gesù fu infatti una delle prime abitazioni a Milano a dotarsi dell’illuminazione elettrica mentre la grande attenzione riservata ai manufatti d’arte applicata d’uso domestico la colloca alle radici del futuro design milanese.

Con la riapertura, i visitatori potranno ammirare uno degli importanti interventi di conservazione portati a termine durante questo periodo: il restauro della decorazione pittorica della Biblioteca, realizzato dallo Studio Carlotta Beccaria & Co grazie al Fondo Monti di Italia Nostra.

La decorazione pittorica di questo ambiente si ispira a un importante luogo della Milano rinascimentale: la sala capitolare di Santa Maria della Passione affrescata con un monumentale ciclo pittorico di Ambrogio Bergognone.

L’intera decorazione fu realizzata nel 1887 da Luigi Cavenaghi, apprezzato artista oltre che abile restauratore, specializzato anche nell’imitare l’arte del passato e proprio per questo chiamato dai fratelli Bagatti Valsecchi. Certamente fu per loro impulso che il Cavenaghi sostituì ai busti di religiosi che compaiono nelle lunette degli affreschi cinquecenteschi i motti in latino tratti da autori antichi quali Ovidio, Orazio, Tibullo. Questa “antologia” di citazioni è un motivo ricorrente infatti non solo nella Biblioteca, ma anche in tutte le altre stanze della loro dimora.

Racconta la conservatrice del Museo Lucia Pini: “Prima del restauro, la decorazione della Biblioteca appariva seriamente compromessa: a rivelarsi problematici furono infatti già alcuni materiali impiegati nel XIX secolo poiché, non permettendo la regolare traspirazione della muratura, avevano portato alla massiccia formazione di sali. Questi ultimi, spingendo al di sotto dello strato più superficiale dell’intonaco, avevano provocato negli anni il rigonfiamento e addirittura il distacco di ampie parti della decorazione pittorica. Ripetuti impacchi per la rimozione dei sali e piccole iniezioni di calce per consolidare le zone a rischio hanno preceduto l’integrazione pittorica delle parti perdute, che è stata realizzata con colori reversibili e mappata con precisone”.

Grazie a questo restauro, si torna così a godere pienamente della bellezza della Biblioteca, dove tutti gli oggetti sono stati lasciati esattamente nella loro collocazione originaria, a cominciare dalla preziosa coppia di globi del 1579 – uno terrestre e l’altro celeste – che campeggia in mezzo alla sala e fa da cornice al lungo tavolo centrale che ospita antichi manufatti in avorio, cofanetti e strumenti scientifici.

Pensata come luogo di raccoglimento, la Biblioteca è completamente rivestita con armadi in legno decorati con gli stemmi di famiglia. Sopra di essi sono allestiste alcune maioliche e all’interno sono conservate le numerose riviste d’arte e di architettura che i due fratelli consultarono alla fine dell’Ottocento alla ricerca di motivi decorativi da riproporre nella loro dimora.

Infine su un grande leggio si trova ancora oggi aperto il volume di Pietro Toesca, commissionato da Giuseppe ed edito nel 1918 che illustra tutte le collezioni e gli ambienti di Casa Bagatti Valsecchi.

A particular first flour is that deriving from apple scraps that manages to be perfectly mixed with the flour to prepare bread.
All this is just the beginning and represents an innovation that could open new frontiers in the fight against waste.
